Cyberpunk is delayed yet again, to be expected this December

CDProjekt Red has decided to delay Cyberpunk 2077 yet again, this time only for 21 days. The new release date is now set for December 10th.

The company further explained that the delay is due to the challenges of shipping the game without problems to both current-gen, next-gen consoles, and PC. All while working from home.

In the same post, they also addressed how the game went “Gold” some time ago, yet they still continue working on it. “Passing certification of “going gold”, means the game is ready, can be completed, and has all content in it. But it doesn’t mean we stop working on it and raising the quality bar.” CDProjekt Red explained.

Long history of delays

This delay is far from being Cyberpunk 2077’s first. The original release date was set for April 16th, 2020. However back in January the game was delayed until September, and then again later in June it was delayed until November 19th.

The pandemic can be blamed for most of the delays, but not all of them. The first delay happened in January, around 2 months before work from home orders were a thing in the United States.

It seems that the main reason behind these delays is CDProjekt Red’s constant pursuit of perfection. Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely worth the wait, and we hope these delays result in an absolutely flawless and historic release.

You can experience Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, only for $60 this December 10th. Do you plan on playing it on the first day? Let us know in the comments.
